URB festival’s 25th edition

URB’s festive summer! It’s time to give space to great emotions, pleasure, courage, incompleteness and different encounters. URB has given the voice to the city, and been a reflection of its pulse and diversity for 25 incredible years already.

The week-long early summer festivities start off at Kiasma and from there, move towards eastern Helsinki. The program is filled with urban art forms; from street dance to queereeoké, from cutting edge performances to relaxed street parties. This year’s lineup is curated by Jonna Strandberg and Yilin Ma. The joint anniversary party with Flow-Mo at Stoa is put together by Young Curators Gabriel Karhu, Lucian Lovén and Aarni Pieski.

The festival only comes alive when you join in, you are warmly welcome!

Collaboration

URB festival’s partners are Cultural Centre for Eastern Helsinki Stoa, Alimus, Zodiak – Centre for New Dance and Finncult Benelux. The festval is supported by City of Helsinki and The Finnish Cultural Foundation with their Taide2 project for Young Curators’ project.
