Gather with us to dive deeper into what has inspired the piece Several attempts at braiding my way home. Together we will reflect on hair, shapeshifting and dorsal practices through reading Alexis Pauline Gumbs’ book Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals. We will also write and meditate together on grounding practices and the sensorial abilities of our hair. The workshop will end with a meal together.
This workshop is directed for people of the global majority/BIPOC. This refers to people who are Black, Asian, Brown, dual-heritage, indigenous, and or have been racialized as ‘ethnic minorities’.
The workshop is held on Wed 5.6. during 12.00-15.30 at Kiasma’s Paja (5th floor). The ticket includes admission to Several attempts at braiding my way home -performance on Thu 6.6. at 18.00. We will personally contact all participants that has purchased the ticket before the workshop.
