Guidelines for visiting the museum with a group
Admission is free for everyone under 18 years of age and for teachers accompanying their group. Even secondary-school students aged 18 and over can visit Kiasma free of charge when part of a group.
Please note
If you are with a school group, please stay together. Read about the works and consider which ones are suitable for you. Please do not touch the artworks.
At the moment, we recommend the Rock, Paper, Scissors exhibition (2nd and 3rd floors), where works are suitable for all ages. Despite being made from familiar materials, the artworks are very fragile, and there is only one artwork in the exhibition that can be touched gently (Jacob Dahlgren: The Wonderful World of Abstraction, on the 2nd floor). On the third floor of the museum, there is a room where you can explore the materials of the artworks by touching them.
The teacher is always responsible for the group
We recommend familiarising yourself with the exhibitions before visiting Kiasma with your students. The teacher must accompany the group at all times and is responsible for the students throughout the visit.
We strongly advise that the group includes at least one adult per 25 pupils. Always tour the museum together.
Always notify us about your group
As Kiasma is a popular destination for school trips, we must limit the number of simultaneous kindergarten and school groups during peak periods. We do this only to ensure a smooth visit and a pleasant experience for everyone.
Even if you do not book a guided tour, please inform our info desk in advance if you are coming with a group of kindergarten or school children.
If the museum is particularly busy, priority will be given to groups that have registered in advance. If you arrive unannounced, we cannot guarantee admission to the museum at your desired time.
When you arrive at Kiasma
Sign in at the information desk in the Kiasma lobby.
You will receive tickets to distribute to your group. Leave your coats and backpacks in the free lockers. If you have booked a guided tour or an art workshop, your guide will meet you in the lobby.
Why is it forbidden to touch the works?
Touching an artwork just once may not seem like much, but even clean hands carry oils that will damage the pieces over time. Please move calmly through the museum and keep a safe distance of half a metre from the artworks. This will help preserve them for everyone to enjoy for many years to come.
Eating and drinking
Please do not eat or drink in the exhibition galleries. Water bottles and any snacks should be left in the lockers or cloakroom.
If your group has brought their own snacks or lunch, please ask our staff for a suitable place to eat.

Groups arriving without a guide
Even if you do not book a guided tour for your school or kindergarten group, please let us know in advance about your visit to help us ensure a smooth experience for everyone. If the museum is particularly busy, priority will be given to groups that have registered in advance.
We strongly advise that the group includes at least one adult per 25 pupils. Always tour the museum together. The teacher is responsible for students throughout the visit.
Guided tours for school and kindergarten groups
A guided tour allows you to get more out of contemporary art. Tours are tailored to the wishes and needs of each group.
Please book your guided tour at least two weeks before your planned visit. Any changes or cancellations must be made at least one week before the booking date. Uncancelled tours will be charged at the full price.
Guided tours always start 15 minutes after the hour (e.g. 14:15, 15:15, etc.).
