URB festival’s 26th edition

URB has given the voice to the city, and been a reflection of its pulse and diversity for 26 incredible years already. The first festival was arranged in year 2000 – we cannot believe that the festival has filled already quarter century old! URB festival is produced by Kiasma Theatre, which is part of Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma and Finnish National Gallery.

The URB 25 festival invites you to experience performances that draw from the creators’ own roots, but open up to a broader interpretation of the state of the contemporary world. The URB 25 festival programme is curated by Jonna Strandberg, Yilin Ma, Lucian Lovén, Gabriel Karhu & Aarni Pieski

During the festival, urban culture takes over different stages and surprising places – culminating in a free outdoor concert at Kansalaistori. Welcome to celebrate the diversity of art!

Collaboration and support

URB festival’s partners are Cultural Centre for Eastern Helsinki Stoa and supported by City of Helsinki and The Finnish Cultural Foundation with their Taide2 project for Young Curators’ project.
