Call out Suomi 3×3 Breaking Edition kicks off the summer’s street dance events by bringing the breaking battles to Kiasma Theatre’s wonderful milieu. Now is the time to gather a group of friends and get ready for the hottest breaking jams of the early summer.
The event features an international lineup of top-class professional DJs and breakers. The jam also includes an open dance floor, where everyone is welcome to take part.
*3×3 battle means a dance competition in teams of three.

Battle registrations to ramona.panula@sadefinland.com
NOTE! Registration closes on Thursday 5th of June 2025 at 23:59. We do not accept registrations at the door. Please also note that only a limited number of crews can fit in the battles. Please register well in advance.
In Battle, crews compete against each other and create dance conversations between each other, at the same time challenging each other.
Those participating in the battle always advance to the next round, according to the judges’ decision, until there are only two trios left. At the end of the competition, a winner will be chosen.
Three judges decide after each battle by indicating with their hand which crew will continue. Crossed hands mean that the judge thought the battlers were equally good. If the votes are tied, the battlers dance one more round, after which the judges decide the winner.
Prize for the winning group is €600
Dance jams are an event that resembles a club. They are a place where a DJ plays music on an open dance floor and people dance together or form dance circles, i.e. cyphers, in the middle of which anyone can dance. The MC/host creates the atmosphere and carries the event from start to finish. The main program number of dance jams is usually dance battles, i.e. competitions / dance contests between dancers, such as 3×3 battles.
Hip hop culture is originally a culture of African-American and Hispanic youth, which was born in the 1970s in New York. The culture originated from the block parties of oppressed and discriminated youth, as an alternative to violence, drugs and gangs. Today, hip hop is a global youth culture that brings together people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Hip hop took root in Finland in the 80s.
The four elements of hip hop are DJing, MCing/rap, graffiti and hip hop dance forms (hip hop, popping, locking and breaking).
