URB 23 festival – performances, street dance and glitter 

URB 23 festival presents different forms of urban arts with 11 projects in Kiasma and around Helsinki. Coming up some street dance performances, events and encounters. 

The festival hosts premieres of Heritage by Ben Fury, inspired by clubbing scene of the 90’s and Jamie MacDonald’s performance T4T4U. International street dance company Hungry Sharks will perform in Stoa. Kairos Helsinki will host Kiasma’s Seminar Room, presenting and exhibition and events by multiple artist. The grande finale of the festival is going to be stunning Queer Art Superstar – Ball. 

This year’s festival is curated by Alexandra Mitiku (Kairos), Sara Hirn, Jonna Strandberg and Baltic Take Over team.

This year URB 23 presents OFF programme as well: Baltic Take Over is a first-ever event that brings nine performances from the Baltic countries to Helsinki. Four of the performances will be performed in Kiasma as part of URB 23 festival.

The partners of the festival are the City of Helsinki& the Cultural Centre Stoa. URB is currently involved in the four-year EU project BEPART together with ten other partners.
