As a result of the collaboration between the Helsinki Festival and Kiasma Tino Sehgal’s work will be presented for the first time in Finland. With a background in political economics and dance, Sehgal’s work consists of live encounters between the artwork and viewer. Rather than making objects, Sehgal creates “constructed situations” within the museum space in which interpreters enact choreographed actions. Sehgal has achieved international renown for his work presented at the Venice Biennale, the Documenta in Kassel, in the Guggenheim in New York and Tate Modern in London.
